This post will list guidelines of how to make proper posts and topics, I hope it's of some use to you.
Posts
A good post should be:
-Written in English, this is an English forum after all.
-Written in proper and understandable grammar.
-Related to the topic being discussed.
-Preferably longer than 1 or 2 words. "LOL" or "Yes" isn't acceptable.
-In comfortable formatting, do not use large or bold text when there is clearly no need to.
-Reviewed before publishing.
A good post should not be:
-Against the rules of the SDNetting forum, which are:
1) No Personal Attacks
2) No Racism
3) No Excessive Swearing
4) No Spamming
5) No Trolling
-A necro of an age-old topic, this will only cause the thread to be removed or locked.
-Containing any images violating our Terms of Service, including illegal or adult content.
-An attempt to start off a flame war, or one to counter trollish attempts with a similar style.
Topics
A well written topic should:
-Have a clear theme and stay on topic.
-Follow a format that is easy on the eyes, using too many colors will annoy some people.
-Be at least more a paragraph long to fully present your idea.
A well written topic should not:
-Have the same theme as a recently created topic. When reporting bugs, first look for topics that may state a similar problem.
-Be a copy off of another, unless authorized by its respective owner.
-Contain profanity or content that violates our forum rules.
When replying to someone on the forums, either use the quoting fuction or include @ in front of the name of the person you are replying to; this will help decrease misunderstandings.
If there are any corrections to your post, you shouldn't just make a new one right beneath it, instead use the edit button.
When you need to a post removed from the public eye (one that is yours, or is reasonably connected to you), contact the moderators.
If you have followed these guidelines, us mods will not be on your behinds. Thanks for reading and lets make SDNetting a better place!
